This Earth Day, We’re Officially Climate Neutral Certified!

Sustainability has always been a part of our DNA since our day one of operations. We’ve always been working on things that can help protect our planet as we want our sustainable impact to be more than just client work. We strive to play our part in helping achieve a sustainable future by integrating sustainability into all areas of our decision-making. And this Earth Day, we are proud to announce that Booth & Partners is one of the 230 brands becoming Climate Neutral Certified. Learn more about what Climate Neutral is and our journey in achieving this label.

Before anything else, we would like to greet everyone a Happy Earth Day! Here at Booth & Partners, we’re not only doing business as an outsourcing company in the Philippines that offers Staff Leasing and Managed services, but our goal is also to ensure our environmental commitments become an integral part of our day-to-day activities. We do this by promoting sustainability across our organization and by partnering with trusted environmental organizations like 1% for the Planet and Climate Neutral.

Why Do We Need to Act Now?

The reality is, climate change is one of the biggest global crises we’re all facing and it needs immediate action and attention. If we don’t take responsibility for this problem now, then there’s no way we’ll get to enjoy the planet in the years to come.

One of the best ways to act now is through the Climate Neutral organization. It is true that the process to become Climate Neutral Certified is a months-long effort. But these are meaningful actions that all businesses and individuals should take to reduce global carbon emissions.

Becoming Climate Neutral Certified

We want to play our part and do what we can about climate change. That’s why Booth & Partners has partnered with Climate Neutral to measure, offset, and reduce our carbon emissions. Here is our journey to becoming Climate Neutral Certified:

1. Measure

To find out what the future actions should be, we have used our 2020 operational data to determine our carbon footprint, which was about 751 tonnes. This is our total emissions created just last year from various business-related travel, utility bills, employee commuting, our supply chain, and many more.

2. Offset

We offset our 2020 carbon emissions using verified carbon credits, which will directly support various environmental projects by Climate Neutral. They have different types of projects that you can choose to support. Visit their website to know more about this.

3. Reduce

When you partner with Climate Neutral, you’ll find that it is difficult to continue doing the same things that emit carbon footprint every year. You need to have your reduction action plans ready. In our case, the following are the reduction action plans that we committed to help lower the emissions we produce over the next year.

  • Convert all of our office lightings to LED. This type of bulb helps reduce greenhouse emissions as it consumes less power per unit of light emitted. This is an important action as one LED light can minimize almost half a ton of carbon emissions.
  • Allowing 23% of our employees to shift to permanent work-from-home setup, 36% to FlexiPlace, and 41% in-office. In addition to this, we encourage our employees to use sustainable transportation such as bikes, carpools, and green vehicles. We believe that this will create a big difference as commuting, especially through private vehicles, is one of the world’s biggest sources of greenhouse gas. That is why we listed this action to cut down the carbon footprint of our daily commute.

4. Label

We want to encourage more brands and individuals to play a part in restoring the climate. We will use our Climate Neutral label not only to communicate our values to our clients, potential customers, employees, and many more, but also to be one of the leaders in working on the solution.

What Does it Mean to be Climate Neutral Certified?

Climate Neutral certification is more than just having the label. It is essentially shorthand for the process outlined above. In addition, we will use this label to inspire others to take action.

With our climate label, we are helping consumers to be a part of our mission and start a smarter way of choosing businesses to trust and partner with. Next time you’re considering a new product or service, keep an eye out for brands that have the Climate Neutral label. See all participating brands here.

To a Sustainable Future

We are thrilled to be one of this year’s Climate Neutral Certified brands. We believe that the organization’s mission to take action about climate change will create a big difference to the environment and to our future. Let’s work together to stop climate change faster!
